Brief History:
More than forty years ago the founder of Universal Seal Products Corporation, William J. Anderton, developed and patented an improved shaft seal design. Word of the micro finishing techniques used in the production of his seal quickly spread throughout the manufacturing community. His Company was soon sought after for this service to be performed by manufacturers of other critical parts.
Over time, his son, Fred Anderton, lead the Company through the change from manufacturer of shaft seals alone, to a micro finishing and parts production service company.
Fred later partnered with Bill Avis; the current owner, President and General Manager of the Alternative Surface Grinding Corporation.
Though the shaft seal manufacture continues, Bill updated the Company name at the turn of this century to clearly display the service that his business is best known for.
Management Profile:
Dale B. Jarvis; General Manager, is the newest addition to the management team, joining ASG during 1999. His diligence and attention to detail has proven to be an asset in gaining ISO Registration and in keeping with our record of, and commitment to, the highest of quality services.
